Wyoming requires an annual submission of a curriculum showing a basic academic educational program to the local board of trustees; there is no testing.

What the Wyoming process looks like

1.Establish the program

  • Submit the curriculum

    Submit annually a curriculum to the local board of trustees showing that the home-based program provides a basic academic educational program (reading, writing, math, civics, history, literature, and science).

  • Withdraw from prior school (if applicable)

    Withdraw the child from any current school.

2.During the year

  • Teach the basic academic program

    Provide the sequentially progressive basic academic program described in the submitted curriculum. No testing or further reporting is required.
