What the Nebraska process looks like
1.Establish the program
File the exemption forms
File the required exemption forms (Rule 12/13, including the statement of intent and assurances) with the Nebraska Department of Education by July 15 for the coming year, or before starting midyear.
Withdraw from prior school (if applicable)
Withdraw the child from any current school.
2.During the year
Meet hours and teach required subjects
Provide the required instructional hours (about 1,032 hours elementary / 1,080 hours high school) covering language arts, math, science, social studies, and health. Keep your own records.
