What the Kansas process looks like

1.Establish the program

  • Register the school

Register the home school as a non-accredited private school by filing its name and address with the Kansas State Board of Education (KSDE non-accredited private school registration).

  • Withdraw from prior school (if applicable)

Withdraw the child from any current school.

2.During the year

  • Provide competent instruction

Provide a planned, scheduled course of instruction by a competent instructor for a period substantially equivalent to the public schools. Keep your own records.
