Connecticut requires no notice or testing; parents provide equivalent instruction in required subjects. A Notice of Intent form is suggested by the state but is not legally mandatory.

What the Connecticut process looks like
1.Establish the program
No mandatory state filing
No legal notice of intent is required. The state suggests filing a voluntary Notice of Intent (form C-14 / NOI) with the district, but participation is optional; withdraw the child from any current school.
2.During the year
Provide equivalent instruction
Teach reading, writing, spelling, English grammar, geography, arithmetic, and United States history and citizenship. Keeping a portfolio is recommended (and used if a district requests an optional annual review).
