1.Establish the program
File the statement of intent
File a statement of intent with the local superintendent at least 14 days before starting (and annually), including the child's information and the instructor's qualifications; provide immunization records.
Withdraw from prior school (if applicable)
Withdraw the child from any current school.
2.During the year
Teach required subjects and keep records
Provide instruction in the required subjects for the equivalent number of hours/days as public schools and keep records of the curriculum and progress.
3.End of year
Administer standardized testing
Administer standardized achievement tests in grades 4, 6, 8, and 10 (a monitored requirement that may be reduced or removed for parents who are certified teachers or meet other qualifications).
