1.Establish Home Instruction
File Letter of Intent
Notify the local school district superintendent in writing of intent to provide home instruction.
Submit the IHIP
File the Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP) listing subjects, materials, and instructor for each child.
2.During the Year
Submit quarterly reports
File the four required quarterly reports covering hours of instruction and progress in each subject.
Meet instructional hours
Provide the required substantial equivalent of instruction (≈180 days; hours vary by grade).
3.End of Year
File annual assessment
Submit the annual assessment (standardized test results or, where permitted, a written narrative evaluation).
