Como funciona o processo em Florida
1.Establish the Program
File Notice of Intent (NOI)
Submit a written Notice of Intent to the district superintendent within 30 days of establishing the home education program (FL F.S. §1002.41).
Set up portfolio of records
Create the required portfolio: a log of educational activities plus samples of the student's work.
Withdraw from prior school (if applicable)
Formally withdraw the student from any current public/private school.
2.During the Year
Maintain daily activity log
Record educational activities across subjects; log at least two subjects per instructional day.
Retain work samples
Keep representative samples of the student's work, materials, and writings in the portfolio.
Track reading log
Maintain a log of books/lessons read throughout the year.
3.End of Year
Obtain annual educational evaluation
Have the student evaluated annually by a FL-certified teacher, or via a nationally normed test / other statutory option.
File annual evaluation with district
Submit the annual evaluation to the district superintendent by the anniversary of program establishment.
Retain portfolio for two years
Preserve the portfolio of records for two years and make it available for inspection on 15 days' notice.
4.Withdraw / Close
File Letter of Termination
Notify the district superintendent in writing within 30 days of terminating the home education program.
